Uniting Americans One Question at a Time
Every politician should answer this yes or no question:
Should government officials who accept bribes be removed from office?
We (you included) should ask them and record their answer!
We are asking journalists to ask everyone who participates in US democracy to go on the record on one question:
Should government officials who accept bribes be removed from office?
We then want to make it easy for people who are interested to quickly find that original reporting on the original websites.
WHY SHOULD JOURNALISTS SUPPORT THIS EFFORT?
1) Your readers/viewers/listeners deserve to know if their representatives are OK with corruption?
2) We will send traffic directly to your reporting - establishing you as the source of record for your beat.
WHY SHOULD GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND CANDIDATES SUPPORT THIS EFFORT?
1) The people you represent want and deserve to know if their representatives are OK with corruption?
2) If journalists have to chase you for this answer, people will draw their own conclusions.
WHY SHOULD MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC SUPPORT THIS EFFORT?
1) If your representatives cannot answer a question as simple as this, YOU have a real problem.
2) Corruption is the key tool used to tear down democracies. If officials start taking bribes, trust in government is naive.
3) The seeds of corruption are growing in the US and if we don't start fixing it now, your grandkids will be raised as drones in an authoritarian world.
4) Democracies are struggling across the globe. Supporting this simple effort is something you can do to help.

The sooner and more clearly you get them on the record more it becomes the norm to do so.
Also, it would be lots of fun for a journalist to ask follow ups if someone can't answer this simple question.
That is the good part!
